Join Nobel Prize-winner Dr. John Mather on Zoom to learn about the discoveries being made with the James Webb Space Telescope. Mather is a senior astrophysicist in the Observational Cosmology Laboratory at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt and the senior project scientist on the James Webb Space Telescope. Since parking in its orbit 930,000 miles above the Earth in early 2022, the telescope has provided a closer look at the universe than has ever been possible. Dr. Mather will discuss the telescope and how it is advancing our understanding of every phase of the history of our universe — from .first luminous glows after the Big Bang to the formation and evolution of our own solar system.

Hosted by Hyattsville Aging in Place, Helping Hands University Park, Neighbors Helping Neighbors of College Park, and Explorations on Aging. RSVP here for Zoom link. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc3ENDGscnAlhGFLq3hqG_oiBaV5FQKKZ2uZBlyeeWEvCFVgw/viewform
