BMAV members, join docent Bob Ferguson on this virtual tour of highlights from the Smithsonian American Art Museum. The 19th Century Impressionist movement may have begun in France, but it quickly spread to many other locations in the western world. In fact, it proved to be a real boon to many American artists, who spent time studying the work of people like Monet, Degas, and Morisot, then brought their versions of it to a very receptive American audience.
