Music and Movement with Chevy Chase At Home invites you to actively experience the joy and many benefits of dance and song right from home—and in your favorite chair. People at all levels of physical abilities are able to take advantage of the opportunity to sing, move, and create in a warm and supportive interactive environment. Music is drawn from classic Broadway shows and popular music that people know and love. Co-teacher Roy Barber is at the keyboard and leads participants in several songs during each one-hour class, all with lyrics displayed on screen. Easy-to-do movement sequences are inspired by a variety of dance forms and focus on gently engaging all parts of the body. The movement material is based on the Dance for PD, a program developed by Mark Morris Dance Group and the Brooklyn Parkinson Group. Co-teacher Robert Sacheli is a teaching artist in the program. No dance or musical experience is required. A donation of $5-8 class is suggested, and the first session is free. Email robertsacheli@comcast.net to register and get the Zoom link. Registration closes by 10 a.m. the day of each class.
