About this event
Do We Have The Right To A Peaceful End? Final Exit Network (FEN) supports the human right to a death with dignity. FEN holds that mentally competent adults who suffer from a terminal illness, intractable physical pain, chronic or progressive physical disabilities, or who face loss of autonomy and selfhood through dementia, have a basic human right to choose to end their lives when they judge their quality of life to be unacceptable.
Our speaker is Christopher Sork. Chris is a retired food service industry executive and former secondary education teacher who joined Final Exit Network seven years ago inspired by a PBS Frontline documentary “The Suicide Plan”, which focused on Final Exit Network's work in educating suffering people about peaceful ways to end their lives. His late father privately confided that he wished God would hurry up and take him because of his unremitting suffering. He felt helpless to assist him. Now Chris carries FEN’s message that he can help others, like his father, to find a peaceful end.
All BMAV members are warmly invited to attend this popular shared interest discussion group led by Chris Palmer.
