In response to the nationwide and local furor over racial injustice, County Executive Marc Elrich established The Reimagining Public Safety Taskforce in mid-year 2020, which included broad representation of community stakeholders. Their final report was released in February. Join Marc Mauer, former Executive Director of the Sentencing Project and one of the two Taskforce Co-Chairpersons, for an overview of their process, findings, and recommendations, with time for questions and discussion. Mr. Mauer is one of the country's leading experts on sentencing policy and race and the criminal justice system. Sponsored by Village of Takoma Park.
