Volunteer docent LeeAnn Lawch returns to help BMAV members explore artwork - in this case we will be treated to a chance to view SAAM's special exhibit on Alexander von Humboldt (1769-1859), which after years in planning had to be closed because of the pandemic. The exhibition reveals how the influential naturalist and Prussian explorer Humboldt shaped American perceptions of nature and the way American cultural identity became grounded in our relationship with the environment. This talk will cover both Humboldt’s life and the artists he influenced.
