Building… and Sustaining a Community Jewel:
Bethesda Big Train Baseball at Shirley Povich Field. Bethesda Community Base Ball Club founder and president Bruce Adams reflects on the history of the Bethesda Big Train summer college baseball team — from the inspiration, construction of Shirley Povich Field, creating the Big Train brand, winning a national championship, making $600,000 of improvements to youth fields from Germantown to Anacostia, transferring the program to BCC Baseball, and retaking stewardship in the middle of a global health pandemic. Co-sponsored with Bethesda Historical Society. Open to the public. RSVP to director@bmavillage.org for Zoom link.
