About this event
Come tour the Lincoln Memorial undercroft, the previously unseen space beneath one of America’s most iconic monuments. This new 15,000-square-foot exhibit area reveals the massive concrete foundations that support the memorial and shares the story of how the Lincoln Memorial was built and how its meaning has evolved over the last century. The undercroft features a soaring grid of concrete columns that support the memorial above, interactive exhibits that explore the memorial’s construction, and multimedia presentations that trace the memorial’s role in American history and civil rights. The exhibit is free.
Meet at the exhibit entrance to the right of the base of the stairs of the monument at 11:20 am or meet Marilyn at 10:15 am in front of the Connie Morella Library to share a Lyft/Uber. The group will split costs. RSVP required so she knows where to look for you and how to plan car reservations.
