About this event

Join us for a guided tour of the Carlyle House Historic Park, a beautifully restored 1753 Georgian Palladian-style stone mansion located in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, 121 N Fairfax St. Built by wealthy Scottish merchant and city co-founder John Carlyle, it serves as an architectural marvel and a major landmark of early American revolutionary history. Afterwards, one block walk away, we will have lunch at Gatsby’s Tavern, a premier historic landmark located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, consisting of a c. 1785 tavern and the 1792 City Tavern and Hotel.

The tour is $8 per person and travel by professional van service will be $24 pp = $32 payment required online at registration. Lunch costs are to be paid individually. Please bring cash to be able to split the check.

We will meet the van at the Connie Morella library branch parking lot at 9:50am. The van will return at 3 pm.

Parking near Carlyle house is also available via parking garages or on-street parking for those that wish to drive separately. The King St metro stop is a 25 min walk.

RSVP on the BMAV calendar by September 22. If you plan to not use the van, or have other questions, contact Marilyn Pike.
