About this event
The Declaration of Independence declared equality and unalienable rights for all. Unfortunately for America today, we see more threats to many of our most cherished civic values. The 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence is a timely opportunity to recognize the Declaration's guiding principles of equality and "unalienable rights" for all and reflect on how we can do our part to make good on its promise in our community and the entire country.
Join Bradley Hills Village for a 250th anniversary celebration and discussion of this revolutionary document and the challenge of achieving its promise. Guest Speaker, Howard Feinstein, Civil Rights Activist, Former Justice Dept. Attorney, Author. Howard will highlight his experience prosecuting hate groups like the Klu Klux Klan and discuss current issues relating to the protection of civil rights of all Americans, particularly disadvantaged groups. He wrote a riveting account of his experiences, often marked by threats and intimidation, in his book Fire on the Bayou.
