About this event
Is the warm weather beckoning you outside after a long nasty winter? What better way to experience nature than on two wheels?
Yes, the BMAV biking group is rousing itself from a long slumber for a short, easy, fun ride together to welcome spring! Some of us have been off our bikes for months, and some are valuing caution and prudence, too. So join other BMAV members on a spring bike ride.
Let's meet at 10 am at Picnic Grove #10 in Rock Creek Park. We picked this location to make it accessible by car (via Military Road), and we plan a short ride down the protected parkway and trail to the National Zoo and return - about 5 miles each way, with no significant hills, at an age-appropriate speed. It is a lovely section of Rock Creek Park.
And for those that might want a longer ride with a few hills, you can join Elyse & Reid who will be riding from downtown Bethesda to the start. Or if you need a ride from Bethesda with your bike, we can also try and help coordinate that.
Afterward, we're planning an optional lunch at Tacombi for some Mexican grub in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.
RSVP on the BMAV website or by emailing Elyse Jacob.
