Enter a world of transformation—where imagination takes physical form; where wire, glass, and celu-clay become creatures of wonder; and where an abstract painter evolves into a surreal sculptor guided by her fascination with fantasy and dream imagery.
AU's Katzen Art Center is holding a
Joan Danziger retrospective this spring, full of her phantasmagoric and varied pieces, including a room full of her most recent focus - ravens in glass and metal. You can read more about her artwork in The Washington Post
here.
We had a tour of her studio last year and now we are offering a private tour of the show - there are many more pieces than we saw at the studio, so that it will be a revelation for those who were there as well as everyone else. Come with your questions, your curiosity, and your sense of fun!
We will meet in the lobby of the Katzen at 11 am. Parking in the building is $2 an hour. Those interested can go to to Millie's for lunch a few blocks away afterwards.
RSVP required as space is limited.
