About this event

Featuring Lindsey Vajpeyi, Director of Early-Stage Programs at Insight Memory Care Center in northern Virginia

Getting a diagnosis of dementia can be quite a shock – or, for some people, a sense of relief! And, if you’re a loved one of someone who has dementia, understanding how to plan ahead while also adjusting to the “new normal” is so important.

In this presentation you will:

· Understand the difference between normal aging and dementia

· Learn the most common types of dementia

· Discover practical next steps to take after a diagnosis

About Lindsey: For twenty years Lindsey has had the honor of working with older adults who live with dementia and their care partners. Her certifications include Certified Dementia Practitioner®, Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer®, Activity Director Certification, and she is a Dementia Friends Champion. Lindsey is passionate about quality dementia care from professionals, support and education for care partners, and helping individuals living with dementia retain a sense of self and purpose throughout every stage of the disease.
