About this event

Have you ever considered the connection between your hearing and brain health? Jennifer Deal, M.H.S., Ph.D. , epidemiologist with the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology and Clinical Research at Johns Hopkins Center on Aging and Health, will provide insights on the links between hearing loss and dementia risk. Dr. Deal will share valuable lessons from her role in the Aging and Cognitive Health Evaluation in Elders (ACHIEVE) study, which looked at the long-term effects of hearing intervention on brain health and the role and mechanism of hearing impairment in dementia and cognitive decline.
