After years of trying to snag the internationally known Midiri Brothers, the stars aligned and the Potomac River Jazz Club (PRJC) is bringing them to the DC area. The Midiris are a Jazz duo and are twin brothers, making a special musical bond. Joe, a jazz and classical clarinet virtuoso and saxophonist, and Paul, his older brother by just 60 seconds is fluent on vibraphone, trombone, drums and xylophone. As evangelists on behalf of New Orleans jazz, swing and big band and small group formats inspired by such Swing-era titans as Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, the Midiris have spread the good word at major jazz festivals, top venues and on their recordings as well. Combined with the Craig Gildner All Star band, this is really gonna swing.

This concert is presented by the Potomac River Jazz Club -- a group of Traditional Jazz enthusiasts who help to keep the music they love alive and well in the Washington, DC area. They have offered BMAV 4 free tickets. RSVP required, first come first serve. The show will be held at Rosensteel Hall, just a few blocks from the Forest Glen metro on the red line. The hall has plenty of parking and indoor seating, and a great dance floor. The cash bar offers soft drinks, alcohol and some snacks.
