About this event
Explore Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library—an American estate and museum in Winterthur, Delaware. This is a place of beauty, history, and learning. Founded by Henry Francis du Pont, Winterthur (pronounced “winter-tour”) is the premier museum of American decorative arts, reflecting both early America and the du Pont family’s life here. Its 60-acre naturalistic garden is among the country’s best, and its research library serves scholars from around the world. As a highlight, we will see the replica of the famous wedding dress African-American designer Ann Lowe created for Jacqueline Kennedy, which is featured in the exhibition, Ann Lowe: American Couturier. Our expert guides are museum interpreters Josh Horowitz and Tyler Johnson, both of whom have a background in history.
