About this event

We will dine on the outdoor patio at Zinnia in Silver Spring. If the weather seems dreadful (hot or wet), we will move indoors.

Zinnia is located at the refurbished site of the old Mrs. K’s Toll House at 9201 Colesville Road - which will be fun for anyone who ate at that old landmark. As we learned with The Daily Dish, east-west traffic is a challenge at that time of day, so leave a little extra time.

This dining experience is curated by Chef Danny Wells and the Zinnia team to bring a modern American menu to the main dining rooms of the iconic Mrs. K's Toll House. Chef Danny has spent over 20 years connecting with local farmers to bring you the best protein and produce in the area. Danny also utilizes ingredients grown in our own organic garden on the Zinnia grounds.

Here’s the menu. Currently, it's one of Tom Sietsema’s “6 Favorite Places to Eat.” Here’s what he says about the setting: “The expansive lawn, dressed with clusters of chairs and tables, a gazebo and garden, are tended to by the same groundskeeper retained by Mrs. K’s — for 25 years.” For more about the food, here’s a review from MoCo360.

For anyone new to Dining Out Together, we go out once a month, generally on the first Tuesday at 6 pm. It is partly for a fun meal, partly to try new places (or new choices from old places!), and partly to get to know our neighbors better.
