Join Chevy Chase At Home and BMAV with Ambassador Swanee Hunt for a wide-ranging discussion of her professional experiences, how women can “wage peace,” and lessons for the future.

Swanee Hunt chairs Inclusive Security, a Washington-based non-profit that consults with policymakers throughout the world on ways to involve women as decision makers in peace and security processes. Her team works in the world’s most volatile conflict zones, and she has been active personally in more than 60 countries. Her work in this field began while serving as U.S. Ambassador to Austria from 1993 to 1997 under President Clinton. She hosted negotiations and international symposia to stabilize the neighboring Balkan states and support women leaders throughout Eastern Europe.

In all of these foreign policy activities, Ambassador Hunt has centered her involvement around the untapped resource of high-level women leaders. That focus has led to her authoring four books, as well as scores of articles and chapters. She has also been involved in several UN Security Council Resolutions, complex multi-year strategies created by more than one hundred countries, and a law passed by the U.S. Senate.

A member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Dr. Hunt is the Eleanor Roosevelt Lecturer in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, where she founded the Women and Public Policy Program after completing her diplomatic service.
