Broadway Musicals and their Divas: 100 Years of Great Performers. Online with Bryant Library. From the more legit sounds in Showboat to the jazzy riffs of Hadestown, the style and singing of Broadway Musicals has changed immensely through the years — especially for its leading ladies. This webinar looks back on the past 100 years of female divas, and examines the evolution of their unique sounds and incredible style.

We will explore the greats - from classics like Ethel Merman, Mary Martin and Julie Andrews to superstars like Barbra Streisand, Bernadette Peters, and Patti Lupone. And then we will look at the more recent phenomenons like Idina Menzel, Audra McDonald, the Hamilton women and many more. Lecture by Michelle Cohen.
