Speaker: Maria Kaplan, RN, BSN, CHPN, Clinical Liaison, JSSA Hospice. Maria is a registered nurse with a deep passion for hospice and palliative care. She’s been part of the JSSA Hospice team since 2015, working as a Clinical Liaison to help patients and families understand their options and feel supported during some of life’s most difficult moments. Maria earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Maryland and holds a certification in hospice and palliative nursing. In her current role, she works closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals—answering questions, offering guidance, and helping people feel more comfortable with the idea of hospice. She’s passionate about educating the community on what hospice really is: not giving up, but focusing on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
